Here are some more from the pen of Jon-Henri Damski, Classics professor turned penniless gay columnist, chronicler of gay life in Chicago, died November 1, 1997, age 60:

Eros is what you do under the blanket.
Love is the blanket.

The mind opens doors the hand cannot reach.

How did I know I was gay? When I slept with her, I had me on my mind. When I slept with him, I had him on my mind.

Being civilized means wearing costumes but never uniforms.

Death is always sudden no matter how long you prepare.
