I am trying to get some perspective. My wife thinks it is OK for women to be around male strippers but when it comes to men being around women strippers it is different. What do you think? She says since men are wired differently we will always get turned on by a naked woman but for woman they don't get turned on by naked men so she thinks it is different. Long story short she thinks it is OK if she is around a male stripper but if I am around a female stripper it is not. I think it is a complete double standard. Any thoughts?

I think she is trying to justify with 'do as I say not as I do'.
It is double standard simple as that.

I mega ditto on this - double standard. What is sauce for the goose should also be sauce for the gander.

Big double standard, and really selfish.

Well. Hate to say it, but it is true. I know whenever I have seen male dancers, it is more comical then anything else. None of my girlfriends who have seen them have been interested either. It was more of a funny thing that we could all laugh about.
But I do think that men are "wired" differently and that it is hard for them to get a lap dance without getting excited. For women it is one big laugh. I am sorry to be one to say it, but if you have a need to see a stripper, then maybe there is more to it. Women really cheat with their minds not their bodies. With men, it is usually cheating solely with the body and not the mind.

I really like this Marie Mission's answer. Just curious about why women get so upset when men look at pornography. I mean, it is a piece of paper or an electronic screen. But I've read so many posts where women complain about their husband looking at an inanimate object.

Frankly--I think that the women that complain about their husbands and porn should give up romance novels--their husbands should INSIST on it.
Romance novels give women the same kind of false ideas about romance that porn gives guys about sex (please--take this statement with a grain of salt--I really don't want to be attacked for it).
Either way--what does it matter? If you've got a sane and healthy relationship to begin with, then porn, strippers, Sports Illustrated, and romance novels should all just be normal "escapes" without being threatening in the least to a partner.

I think a wife or girlfriend sees the beautiful, airbrushed females in porn and think their SOs are comparing those women to her. Then she begins to obsess over her looks and every wrinkle and pimple, knowing that her guy is very visual and wants a perfect woman.
And yes, women have sex with their minds and emotions. That's why foreplay can begin for her hours before having actual intercourse. Even his brushing his hand on hers and looking deep into her eyes as she hands him the garbage to take out can be a turn-on for her and will add to the build-up of excitement for later.
Meanwhile, he needs an immediate fix after visual and tactile stimuli.

Well I agree, to an extent. I in no way will be turned on by a naked man. No matter how ripped, how tan, how, umm how should I put this, abnormally poportioned(?). I'm not saying that I don't fantasize about these men but I can fantasize all day long with out being aroused in the least bit.
I only have a problem with my fiancé seeing strippers because he never even tells me I am pretty unless he's drunk or unless it's one of the days I have to fish for compliments because I feel so yucky. So I don't want to think about him getting aroused over some naked woman rubbing her breasts inches away from his face and her butt on his lap. Sorry but that just doesn't appeal to me. And nor would it appeal to him if it were the other way around. I don't care if he looks at porn as long as I don't know.
I don't agree that all women cheat with their minds and not their body. Say she just wants someone one that maybe has more stamina or a little more well endowed. If a woman is trying to compensate for something physical then they cheat with their bodies. If she is trying to compensate for something in their relationship like not being held anymore or not being appreciated then she will have an affair with her mind.
(There is a difference between an affair and cheating by sex right? I thought an affair was having another whole relationship with someone else)
But I don't think it is right for her to say that you can't do it even though she can.
Have you tried to strip for her? Or has she stripped for you?
If not give it a shot. Ya only live once you know. ;)
Hope this helps,
Emily
