I have a Delta two handel faucet in the bathroom. My first problem is I can't get the hot water shut off to turn. The post the handle is on is plastic so I'm afraid to turn too hard and break it. Is there a lubricant that will help loosen it? There is a tiny bit of play in the knob. And second... the real problem. I've removed the handle from up top. The is no washer visible. Does that mean its washerles or is it further inside? What do I have to remove/replace and how much of it should I take to the hardware store with me?

There is no washer in these. They use a Delta# 1740 Stem unit assembly instead. Remove the bonnet packing nutv and pull the cartridge out and replace it. Before you reassemble turn the hot water back on for a minute to flush out the supply. Good luck, Tom
