I have a piece of wood approximately 3x10 35" long. It is slightly twisted. I need a finished piece 2x6 32" long. How do I take off the high parts and leave the low? Running it through the planer doesn't get it, it just twists as it goes through. Please Helppppp! Thanks

What if you took a hand plane and got it close by eye ball and then cleaned it up on the planer?

What you can do is cut the board to width first. Cut 2" from each side of the board. This should take most of the twist out of the board. If you have access to a Jointer, run the board over the jointer to knock off any high ends, then finally run the board through the planer to your finished thickness.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a new piece of wood that is not twisted? Is this some rare or expensive wood?
