My 97 jeep grand cherokee won't start it will crank but will not start. I was driving on a snowy road a was in 4 wheel drive all of a sudden it just shut down. No warning no hickups just shut down and will not even act like it wants to start. Does anyone have any ideas the plugs are new and gapped. Please help me out some how. I'm looking to sell it but I want it to be running first! It ran great without any problems at all until this happened

. Ensure battery is fully charged.

. Clean battery terminals and cable connections.

. Check all under-dash and under-hood fuses (including megafuses, if any) with a test light or multimeter:

. Check for codes.

. Check for spark. Perform the standard spark test; i.e. remove a spark plug wire and attach it to a properly gapped spark plug, touch the plug to a convenient ground, and observe the spark, while someone cranks the engine. Look for a good, solid spark.

If none, check stator pickup, rotor, distributor cap, and coil. AutoZone can test coils for free.

. Check for fuel. If you don't hear the fuel pump run, when the ignition switch is turned to ON, check the fuel pump relay:

I no you probably got it running by now seeing its been a year, lol.Jeep has a little sensor on the tranny bell houseing called a crank sensor,if this is shot the jeep will turn over but won't start. Its on the bell houseing attached with a 5/16 bolt, unbolt and pull it out.The part is about 20 bucks and will solve the problem, worked when my jeep wouldent start.
