What is the proper tip for an owner of a salon that also cuts your hair?

You only tip the person who is directly serving you... not the owner..

Anyway, it's about 15-20%%, same as a waitress.. I usually just give my hairdresser 5 bucks anyway no matter what, unless they lobbed off my ear or something (No that hasn't happened but you know what I mean.)

If the owner cuts your hair, you tip. Some feel it is OK to tip the owner slightly less than a regular employee (10% if your regular is 15%); but remember there is a difference between a manager and an owner.
