My GT3100 Cub cadet starts up just fine, but after about 1 minute, it dies like the safety switch has engaged. It has a kohler 23 HP engine. I checked the only know safety switches I have (seat, etc) and they seem to be OK. It will start right back up, run for 30 seconds, and die again. I am wondering if this is the "oil protection" switch? I replaced all filters and oil (though it only has 58 hours and not recommended until 100 hours) same problem.

In my case, it was the switch, sort of. The switch actually works fine, the problem is the seat itself. Apparently the cold winter weather stiffens the seat (perhaps the foam absorbs moister that then freezes.) to the point that it can not flex sufficiently to depress the seat safety switch.
