I am replacing a Lenox thermostat that was installed with my AC/heat pump 10 years ago. I have purchased a Honeywell RTH 3100C replacement thermostat. To start with the unit is not even on the Honeywell web site. It is a non-programmable digital unit. The problem is the Lenox had a wire labeled "T" and the Honeywell instructions show no conversion for a "T" wire. As it stands I have an "E" slot and a "B" open on the Honeywell. My Lenox had 8 wires and the Honeywell has slots for 9 wires, with what to do with the "E" slot if it s not used. Honeywell of course doesn't work on the weekends.
What will happen if I put the "T" in the "B" slot or is it best to leave the "T" off until I can talk to Honeywell?
Thanks
