Unsure if this is the correct place for this question, but better here than nowhere.
I have a Panasonic NV-GS11EB Digital Video Camera. This used 1 hour (standard use) mini cassettes.
I have one such cassette with around 45 minutes of film. When I download this it creates a file anywhere between 8.5 and 11 GB in size. I have used DVD Santa, Nero 6 and Ulead and they all come out around the same ratio.
Obviously these will not fit on the standard 4 or 8.5 discs.
This is really grating on me now. This video is of my son's wedding and about 12 people are waiting for copies of it, and I feel a right twit not being able to provide them.

Try Using DVD shrink - it will reduce the video size to suit the disks:

Yes it should do, you can compress as much as you like really, you will just lose picture quality. For example I have a DVD recorder under my TV, and I can choose different recording levels (simlar to standard, long play and extended play on VHS). The worse the quality, the more you can fit on a disk.
