I'm going to assume that your asking what a laboratory apparatus is. Well simply an apparatus is a group of materirals and/or devices used to solve a particular purpose. An example of this is shown is this image: Millican Oil-Drop (http://www.markcasimer.com/content/binary/image002.png). Accually this is the apparatus which one could use to find the charge of an electron.
