I hire a construction company to build a concrete wall around the rear of my home. This construction people damage an grand oak tree and the city came and said that the tree was severely damage and it had to be removed. I applied for a permit to removed the tree and replaced it with approximately six 4" round and twelve feet tall oak trees. This is the way this issues are handle in the STATE OF FLORIDA. Now the city inspector wants me to pay the city $1,7000 before he will issued a permit. I have waited two moths now and they have not done anything to have this problem solve. The same thing happened to a neighbor and they only had to replaced the tree with sixteen small tress. They already had cut the tree down my only has some damage. Can someone give me some advice.

Pay the money and plant the trees, and make sure the construction company is paying for all of it, they should have insurance to cover this sort of thing

Trees also enhance the value of your property and if the loss of the tree diminishes value you can sue for that loss - of course, you would need a Licensed Arborist to do the estimate.
