MY 89 honda accord stalls and cuts off when the gas pedal isn't pressed. We adjusted the idol as a temperary fix, but that causes the car to sputter for a second or two after I turn it off. My battery light also has recently come on, I know autozone can help, but give suggestions if you can.

. Replace fuel filter:

. Check for codes, by jumping the Service Check Connector with a paper clip. It may indicate a bad Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

. Go over your electrical system and check/replace spark plugs (NGK only), spark plug wires, rotor, distributor cap, Ignition Control Module (ICM), and coil. AutoZone can test ICMs and coils for free.

Battery light coming on is an indication the car is idling too low.
