I have a Goodman gas-forced air furnace, about 10 years old. I have power to the main control panel (part# 18099-13) and gas is "on". In the furnace sequence posted by sticky, I am having problems at the step where the hot surface ignitor "glows" to light the burners. All other steps, such as the combustion fan purging, are working. That darn glow just never happens, so the burners never light. Eventually, the combustion fan cycles off and the solid red light on the control panel blinks. I think I have the problem narrowed to the HSI. I have an OHMs tester on it and I run a heat cycle. The HSI never gets an electric surge to signal the coil to heat up. So, the power to the HSI never varies... new control panel needed? Replace one of the relays on the panel? Move and let somebody else figure it out? Thanks!

Can ? Or did you check continoudity,of you ignitor, if cracked and can be very small,it won`t work,, if you take it out,, be careful, they are fragile, it will prob/ have a hairline crack that is gray or almost white where the break is,, if no continoudity, replace

Do I check the continuity at the HSI or at the plug?

The ignitor is brand new I had just replaced the original, which was cracked, but is still not lighting
