My mom has recently had my sister taken away and put in a foster home. I would like to get her to live with me but I live in a different state. Does anyone know what I would need to do to get her? I live with my boyfriend. We have 4 kids and also his son from another relationship. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Trish

If your sister I in foster care then you should contact child welfare and state your intentions to care for yor sister. The child welfare should consider you as you are a close relative the fact that you live in a differet state will complicate things and you should also apply for guardianship of the child. The child's wishes have to be taken into consideration and if she would be happy to live with you a court must appreciate the child's wishes too. You may have to undergo a parenting assessment to establish your suitability to become your sisters carer also seek legal advice from a qualified professional to clarify your position.
