Find the resultant vector of this problem.

A 15 N force pulls at 15 degrees. A 20 N force pulls at 95 degrees and a 30 N force pulls at 270 degrees.

The way to go is to convert all vectors into their x and y components and then just add all the x and add all the y and then convert that pair into a magnitude/direction.

For example, for the 15 N force @ 15 degrees we can say the x component is 15cos(15) and the y component is 15sin(15).

Hope that helps.

For Resultant R: (inclined at angle A to the X - Axis)

X component =X = R Cos A = 15 cos 15 + 20 cos 95 + 30 cos 270

Y component = Y = R sin A = 15 sin 15 + 20 sin 95 + 30 sin 270

R^2 = X^2 + Y^2

Tan A = Y/X
