Sometimes my email alert lets me know I have email and sometimes it doesn't. Also I have been alerted that I have a few emails in my box but when I go to check there is nothing there. What's up with that?

Do you have any filters set up, as these will alert you to new mail,but if it is filtered to delete then there won't be any.
Also along the same lines alerts also work on your junk mail folder as well, so your mails may be going there instead of your inbox.

I have also had a similar problem but what I think is "when u chek u r mails and signoff the mail box this dats ie u r signoff data is not updated in the database and because of that u receive the alerts and wen you sign in again you wont see any mails"
