I'm sure this is a stupid question, but I know you really shouldn't lay a refrigerator down on its side and I was wondering about wash machines. I just purchased a used maytag neptune washer and I had no help getting it off my truck. I had to lay it down on it's side and slide it of slowly. I stood it up immediately. It was only on its side for about a minute. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I just wondered if any damage can be caused by this. I did the same with the dryer as well.

Thank a lot,
Tim

No. I've turned many on a side to fix them.

Refrigerators have trouble because of the coils that may be on the back.

Water heaters have serious problems being on it's side because of possible tank damage and denting.
