Now I am over weight I am 6ft4 and about 17 and a half stone. (245 lb)
At the moment Im on a get fit thing. I have not done any exercise such as gym running or anything yet because I am taking things one step at a time...
First step for me was to stop smoking which I have managed to do for about 3 and a half months!
Now I need to combat my eating crap!
I am single and live on my own. And can't cook very well. So I tend to go for tins of things. I also have a very funny working life, example:
Woke up at 10:30am ate cereal
Had a cake bar 11ish
1pm had four slices of brown bread with ham, pork pie, crisps and a choco buscuit.
Started work at 2pm
(im at work)
I finish at 10pm, at that time of night I don't want to cook so I will order pizza or have nothing.
What I am after is a easy to cook diet that I can make easily. As I have no cooking skills at all!
Anyone help?

All right, here are some easy healthy cooking tips!
1) Salad, easy as pie to make, just wash your ingredients, chop, and get a low fat dressing!
2) Chicken and fish- Both can be cooked easily in a sauce pan with a little cooking spray, and for flavor, use lots of herbs and spices, they're not fattening! Cook fish to 145 degrees internally, and as a general rule of thumb, don't eat chicken unless it's got no pink in it, and is hot! Just spray the pan, heat to medium-highish, add meat, flip when brown cut in half and check/take temperate with a cheap meat thermometer and you're good to go. Lean chicken turkey and ham can make a healthy sandwich with whole grain bread!
3) Steamed vegetables, they come in bags in your freezer section, you can heat them in the microwave!
4) Brown rice, whole grain pasta, although a lot of carbs may make you gain weight, some are still important, whole grain are better for you! You can cook rice and pasta in boiling water and it takes usually less than 15 minutes for rice, 10 for pasta, and you can put lowfat sauce on them or just add them into your pan with meat when they're done, throw in a little more spices, and heat a minute, it's delicious! Spices are easy to use, just pick up some at the store, they usually have things they go well in on the package. Try not to use a lot of salt!
5) beverages- cut out the pop and sugary juices/drinks you drink (100% natural juice is okay) Don't drink sugary drinks, you get a ton of calories from them!
6) Fruit! Natural fruit is good for you, and the sugars are not as terrible for your body as processed sugars!
Add some other healthy foods of your choosing with these lowfat, healthy foods with some good exercise and you'll be on your way to losing wight in no time! Good luck!

Oh! Also, lowfat cheese and yogurt can make good snacks! Make sure you get all the food groups!

Are you saying I can't drink fizzy pop? I drink about 8 liters per week of it at present.

Oh, soda contains a lot of sugar and calories! You don't want that much processed sugars and you don't want to drink your calories. Diet soda is almost as bad and also has a chemical in it that's been known to cause cancer in some studies. If you're serious about losing the weight, I suggest cutting the soda.

XD Cooking healthy foods is easy, you just have to be able to spot the hidden fats and sugars and empty calories in foods, and it's easier to pick good ones.

You are eating a lot of carbs, zzz. Try switching to diet soda, but you still need to cut back - the sodium in the soda will make you retain water.
I have found eating lean meat and cheese for breakfast stops my craving for sweets and carbs during the day.
Atkins is a good diet for men, you keep your dairy and meat products, just cut out processed sugar and carbs.
Good luck!

Plus there are tons of diet foods that you can pop in the microwave. They are so much better than the stuff from years back. Fill up your freezer and give them a try.

Soda is HORRIBLE for diets... and if you lack cooking skills you can buy frozen dinners designed and portioned for dieters. They are called Lean Cuisine. I love them. I take one to work everyday for lunch..
