I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3 Liter. While driving a few days ago the engine stopped and would not start again. The next day I checked and one of the spark plug wires was split in half... don't know how! I replaced the wire and checked the others and the plugs, but it still won't start. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

. Test all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

. Ensure battery is fully charged.
. Replace spark plugs (Motorcraft only), spark plug wires, and test/replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil.
Here's what the ICM looks like and costs:
While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?PartType=194&PTSet=A)
Here's what the coil looks like and costs:
While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?PartType=190&PTSet=A)
If you want to save the money, AutoZone can test the ICM and coil for free.
. Test for spark.
. Test for fuel.

Check the passenger side for the collision cut off switch.. up under the dash... a passenger can hit with it a foot and kill your truck.Check that before you spend any money.
