The gas was off for several months and therefore the lines must be bled for the gas to reignite the pilots for the furnace and water heater. Gas service has been restored but how do I bleed off any air in the lines prior to lighting the pilots? Thanks

The lines may have little or no air to bleed since it would take a leak for them to get air inside. Just start with your water heater pilot and hold down the button until the pilot lights and the thermocouple heats up. After one or two tries the pilot will likley stay lighted and you are done. Is the furnace a pilot or electronic ignition? If its electronic it will fix itself.
