I am having trouble opening saved word documents, and when a new email arrives my outlook says it has encounter a problem and needs to close. I have tried the detect and repair, and the programs are installed on a server so I don't have a disk. Any thoughts?

Are the programs RUN from the server or just installed from it?

I am having trouble opening saved word documents, and when a new email arrives my outlook says it has encounter a problem and needs to close. I have tried the detect and repair, and the programs are installed on a server so I don't have a disk. Any thoughts?
Is this happening on all file type attachments? (In other words, word, excel, ppt, etc.. )

A few things to consider:
1. Install all of the latest application service packs.
2. Ensure that you don't have a security program blocking your ability to open attachments.
3. You may have to re-associated your file types on the computer (.doc files will be opened with word, xls with excel and so on)

Addtionally, are you able to save the file attachment to your hard drive first, then open it up from that location?
