I have a question about windows 98 second edition. Every time I download a program or install a new program, after it says 'you need to restart your computer' the computer won't restart, it comes up as a black screen with a little white dash on the left top side of the computer screen or gets stuck at when it says windows is closing down. So then I have to restart the computer. This only happens when it comes to downloading new programs. Why won't my computer restart after downloading new programs? Thanks.

Chexck your power management drives, sounds like the computer doesn't have the right drives, or look for windows 98 shut down patches.
