I experience nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea and disorientation causing me to feel off-balance, out of focus and unstable. I am over 70 and have considerable hearing lost in both ears. Periods last from one to several hours and experiences vary. When not in the bathroom, my best remedy is to lie down, if I can, sometimes the "whirling" prevents lying down. Specialists have prescribed a water pill taken several times a day and meclizine when necessary. How are you coping?

Urgh I know how you feel, I had labyrinthitis recently which gives a similar experience from an infection of the inner ear. They ae both Vestibular Disorders and have similar symptoms although are caused by different things.

Avoid caffeine it makes you feel awful! Also don't drink alcohol and make sure you don't get too tired.

I found lying down was the best. When I couldn't I looked onto the horizon whist holding onto something, it helped a tiny bit.

This bit just about Ménière's:-
Keep talking to the specialists, there are quiet a few things they can do if it becomes completely intolerable. For your water tablet to work stick to a low salt diet.

My sympathies, I was only dizzy and nauseous for a month but I know how little people understand if you haven't had it yourself. Best of luck managing your symptoms.

Here is a support website, actually for labyrinthitis, but relevant to anybody with chronic dizziness, that you might find helpful. It helped me when I was ill.
