On Oct 24, 2007, I gave a 30 day notice via email to my landlady. I also called her and left a message on her cell phone. On Oct 25, 2007, I sent a certified letter about the 30 day notice and sent her a check for Nov 1-23, 2007.

She called to say that she got the mail on Oct 26 and wants me to pay 3 more days rent. Is she legally entitled to these three extra days?

Thank you!

Possibly. In many spots, you have to give a notice from rental period to rental period. So if your rental payments are due on the first and cover to the end of the month, she may be legally able to require you to cover the entire month.

Yes, in most areas rent is due and payable from date due to date due. You give notice to end on the last day of your payment period. So if your rent is due on the 1st, then you give notice to be out the that before the first.
