My computer shuts down by itself at least 5 times a day for no reason. It happened about a month or so and I suspect that it's the power supply failing. Any thoughts?

Check the cooling fans for dust/lent buildup, may be overheating.

You need a new power supply. Mine did the same thing.

Does the blue screen say that there is a hardware problem. Swap out the RAM and try again.

I got it all fixed up now

A little piece of dust got stuck and was caught under the cpu fan which attracted smaller dusts and made them join up together

I vacuumed it out

Thanks for the help guys

This is funny, my computer room is the dinning area, the stand alone house heater sits in the kitchen, the computers get hotter in the winter time than they do in the summer time since the very strong heater in only 10 feet away, the fans run all winter long but they almost never come on in the summer months.

I have to clean mine every month as the 8" fan on the side of the case sucks in all kinds of dust, next time (if ever) I won't get a large fan. Got to keep that dust out, no doubt.
