I have been trying since July to have my carpets repaired in my apt. ( I have kept documents of all) My manager says she forgot or never gets to the issue. I went yesterday and asked either for a letter stating I would not be responsible for carpet damages (due to the fact it is a default in the carpet and coming apart at seams) I was told no letter and they could be repaired but would look like crap EXACT words--I said do not repair stay out of my apt. unless I have a emergency ALso this is a handicap apt and told she would put metal strips over the seams Is this legal in a handicap apt? Any answers on this issue would be welcomed I am not renewing my lease due to always having to ask over and over for repairs to be done

Metal strips over the seams over your carpet? I have not heard of that one. I know metal strips get placed where the carpet meets the linoleum but not carpet to carpet. Your manager must have a boss - the owner of the building. Find that person. Write to that person, send pictures, plus your documentation of what all has been going on.

Do you have a disability advocate? Call that person. There must be a housing authority where you live - call them too. If you receive any kind of subsidy for living there - rental assistance - call them too!
