Morning Craig me dear hows you today???
Top o the mornin' to you! Just peeking in on this thread before I go to bed. Hey, I'm a poet and I noet! I have a three day gig out of town, starting tomorrow. Won't be back until Sunday evening at the time over here. Have been really enjoying things on this site so far. Have made some friends and met some really great folks here and also "met" some people that perhaps we all wish that we hadn't! :( But, none-the-less, that is life...
Later...
Have to go to bed now. :)

Oh, I hate this time of year. While I LOVE Christmas, the stress of shopping, do I have enough money, can't find enough time...

The problem is--I don't really have very many contacts here in the Cities, yet.

SYNNEN, Maybe you should make a myspace page for the holidays?? I would so fly you in if I had the money.. I know a lot of people have their homes decorated for them, trees and all. Especially professional athletes (football) because they are traveling during this time of year.

Craigslist? Any where little antique shops... Do your house first, take some pics of what you can do, then post it EVERYWHERE! Good luck Synn, I hope it all works...
Synnen
Nov 9, 2007, 11:46 AM
I actually HAVE a MySpace page, honestly.
I'm kind of private about it, though... maybe make a new one just for the holidays, for advertising... hmmm...
I've thought about checking out Craigslist, too.
The problem really, is that most people who have someone else do it hire interior decorating companies. I'm not that good, not that experienced, and not that expensive!
I was thinking about it more as a Mother's Helper sort of thing--getting the lights on the tree so the family can decorate it, or as a gift for a retiree some help getting the things they'd like out in their house that no one in the family really has time to help with.
/shrug... I've only been playing with the idea for a few weeks
shatteredsoul
Nov 9, 2007, 11:47 AM
That is an awesome idea... but maybe just like a business myspace page for the services you offer... separate from your private myspace page..

Chery darling how are you feeling????
Feeling great! good medication, good friends, and went out to dinner last night. I am playing with this new laptop that I got from a friend and guess what... I did my first wireless lan connection, from one PC to this laptop, and it is working - so proud of myself. I'm being challenged by the Vista OS in german right now, but you know me, I like a challenge.
Just got off the phone with Jaime, we talked for an hour and we are going to get together again tomorrow. I'm physically worn out right now, but that's nothing new, so as long as I am mentally good to go, I'm happy. The meds help keep the muscle and bone pains at a tolerable level, and don't mess up my mind, so that's just the way I hope it stays for as long as possible. I've got plans and taking each one at a time, and feel good when I'm done with them.
The only thing I feel bad about right now is that I don't post on too many relationship problems right now due to other priorities, but I will get back to them. I do check them out and know that AMHD folks are doing so good that I don't feel too guilty.
Hope everyone is doing well and having a good weekend.
Love,
Chery

There was some sort of celebration here yesterday too. They had bonfires, and I bet all the firemen were on duty. It must be a rel. holiday here in germany, but I didn't bother to ask what type.
Hope you all enjoyed your Sunday...
I went with Jaime and Alexander to Kullman's here in Kaiserslautern - nostalgia just like the diners in the US, and Alex just loved it. The food was good, the music, and the style of the furniture, not to mention the best burgers in the country. Alex was so enamoured in our waitress. The three of us are blond, and she had long black hair, and beautiful dark eyes. He just couldn't keep his eyes off her and every time she passed he'd try his best to show off with his beautiful laugh and smiling eyes. It was so obvious it was cute. Ane he's only 15 months old. He was the best behaved kid in the whole place and this is something I'll never forget for the rest of my life. My grandson was on his best behaviour and totally happy with us today... Not bad for a 15 month old.. and he can flirt better than any man I met in my life - it was so cute and obvious p.s. repeating myself here), so we know that he will have a taste for dark-haired and dark-eyed girls.

I like both depending on my mood, but I don't think I count, as I only chime in every so often now a days... lol... I just happened to log on and see your post :)

I like both too... The meaningless drivel tends to get me through my day and the meaningful drivel helps me get back to ground zero with my thoughts and views...

Meaningless conversation distracts me from my daily worries and frustrations. It can be very helpful in keeping my spirits up. Meaningful conversation allows me to process all of my thoughts and emotions in regards to my fears and daily conflicts. It helps me to learn learn and grow intellectually.

I understand what you all mean but don't you find it pretty sad that you need it constantly in your life I've had a lot of time to reflect these last few weeks and I have to say its great occasionally but on a daily basis is just scary it made me see what I was trying to shut out and not actually deal with.

Yes I think you are right CBW, it is definitely a way of distracting yourself from what's going on in the real world. Sometimes we need that to stay sane, because if we focus on everything all at once, we get overwhelmed.. so I think by talking about random stuff, gives the mind a break. I too, realized that I have gotten caught up on here and I tend to neglect other things going on. I have been trying to be more focused at home and not allow myself to wander off on here. IT is so easy to do, so many interesting people to talk to. BUT, my real life does suffer when I am on constantly. I was away this weekend for my anniversary and so I took a break from here to be devoted to that. We did enjoy ourselves and I am trying to stay on meaningful subjects because there are a lot of issues going on in my family right now. However, talking in here and in P&B allows me to laugh and forget my worries for a little while. I am so glad I have all of you to do that with!!

Oh no sweetie you did not offend me! I think you are so right. I was just playing devil's advocate. But I do have to say that what you are saying is 99% of the reason why I take a break on the weekends and come in AMHD fresh every Monday.

I have a question do you guys prefer in meaningless drivel as conversation or something that actually has real meaning??
As has been said, depends on the mood.
Any conversation between friends can be beneficial. Humor is always good, and meaningful conversation has helped me with a serious problem lately - thanks to you guys and gals, I have my scales leveled again and that makes this all worth it. I hope it works for you too, no matter what you have on your plate, you know you can always share it.
So... let's keep on going and enjoying the Garden. I'll look for some more nice flowers to jazz up the place.
Love,
Chery

And sometimes we need someone to talk to.. I live alone now, and if I did not have this place, I'd go totally nuts..
CBW... Honey, your pregnant, and your hormones will do what they do, and this is the place for you to let them out and react without feeling guilty, so stay on and just be yourself.

MON CHERY!! I have missed you soooo! I am so glad to hear that you have been doing better. I was worried about you. You seem very positive and upbeat and it seems you have had some time to enjoy that family, that is always a great thing. Yes, I too need to seek refuge here from time to time. I don't want to become too dependent on the people here. I know for awhile I was getting too clingy or something. Now I try to balance things a little better. However, I consider a lot of people here my friends, so when I don't come on I feel like I am neglecting them and I miss them too. IT's hard. I never even had come into a website like this, or any chatroom before I joined here. At least most of the people here are well intentioned and helpful... LIKE YOU CHERY and CBW.. xoxoxoxoxo

Shattered... I missed you too. I don't look at all the threads as much as I used to but I will continue to visit the garden no matter how ill I get.
My family comes first now, and I still consider AMHD my 'cyberfamily' so you will see me on here until the last days...
I too just found this place while having a computer problem, discovered a lot more here and stayed. But I have not bothered with other forums because that's just not me. This is a unique place to be and I'm darned proud to be a member!
Start... whether you do the dishes and laundry an hour or two later, or let someone else do them is a choice you can make without feeling guilty. This place is not a gambling joint, nor a gossip corner (not really), so instead of taking your free time to read a book, you come here... there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We all have a right to have a special place to go. And, I'm glad you're here.
http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_17_1v.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNfox000)<<<< it's better than what 'he' is doing.
We might not read too many books > they usually tell about the past, and are still interesting>> but this is more real, we get a lot of information here, and also share a lot, meaningful or not.. it's the present.

Ah but chery that's just it I don't want to share that kind of thing with utter strangers I've never been one to let anyone completely in unless there stood smack bang in front of me the internet to me is and always will be full of people hiding behind a computer there are very few genuine people out there and I've certainly questioned that a lot more since the bloody sarai thing stupid girl.
I will also say I'm pretty much the same temperament wise I've always been a hot head I was before I was pregnant just a lot more honest and I really don't actually care about what others think I never have had for the pure fact that if you can't deal with your own life why the hell should you try and deal with others yeah I listen and make that I do care because it makes others feel better for sounding out when in reality there are legitimately very few here I believe a word they say way to many cry wolf for attention and that can be from the extreme of lies like death as we have all seen that one possed not long back to the woe is me stuff.
Ive never been a sympathetic person I believe we are given our way of life for a reason and we are meant to deal with what's thrown at us because that's what makes us people in our own rights character building id call it makes you stronger and better people.
Im going to shut up before I really let rip lol And I'm not saying we don't need a special place to go as I've already said up there it just makes me wonder about there lives as to why the heck they feel the need to spend hours talking about nothing and its not just here I see it either.

You're right, computers can be used to hide, lie, and do a lot of damage. That depends on the user. The users are all diverse individuals with different values and morals too.
The reason I use a computer is due to being alone and needing to communicate with the world, finding out information and just plain sharing my thoughts and feelings because I thought there was nobody physically around me interested enough in what I have to say. I guess it all depends in the mental make-up of us all on how we interpret internet conversations.
All in all, it does continue to be interesting enough for all to give it a try. Just like everything else in life.
Different strokes for different folks, as someone said...
I still hope you like interacting with us as much as I do with you.
curlybenswife
Nov 14, 2007, 01:46 PM
You are all taking this personally and that's what I'm getting at the internet needs to be kept at a level that nots personal for all involved there's a limit and I'm not about to let people past it I never have and never will.
Trust me if it were a personal attack the one in question would more than know about it, I'm just trying to hold a conversation that actually means something the reactions of everyone are interesting to say the least as you have all gone on the defensive just kind of goes to show my point really.

Not on defensive at all dear. Understand your opinion.
Don't know the motives of others, just wanted to tell you mine, because that's all I can go by. I'm sure there are many people on here with many different motives for sharing themselves one way or the other.

Ok so I have quick little story about my friend's son.
He is in 5th grade and was given the puberty talk at school the other day. Then last night Amy was clipping his toe nails and giving him his cold medicine (terrible cold going on). She had him sitting on the bathroom vanity. He turns and looks at himself in the mirror and says.
"ey Ma I am getting a moustache.
She laughed and said "Honey just because you talked about it happening does not mean that you are going to start sprouting hair."
To which he replied "Oh yeah? Well Anthony has a moustache already."
Amy giggled and told him he was crazy.
He said "No Ma, he's Italian, so he is hairy. Just like Max.
Max is his VERY Italian step dad who is a bit hairy

Tus... that is hilarious! Oh geeze...

A lot of teen scare the crap out of me..
It seems they are so lost, angry, and just plain obnoxious - society is really having a bad influence on them. They are so disrespectful on buses, in shops, etc. I wish I still had the recipe I used on Jaime, I'd pass it on to other moms - but I forgot what I did right.. just the things we did wrong we moms never forget.
Got a snow storm last night, didn't even notice it until I saw that crap outside. Oh well, there goes my wish of never seen snow again in my life.. but under the circumstances I'll endure it as long as I can see Alex enjoying himself in it this year. Larry was out on his balcony most of the night, he likes it out there and can come in whenever he wants... he's just a crazy cat. He's inside now for a while letting his fleas warm up before he goes outside again. I don't know where a house-cat catches fleas, but he found some..
I remember this time of the year in Japan, we were mowing the lawn and cuting roses.. That's what I loved about being an 'army brat' the traveling and I guess that's also why I never had to join a 'gang' in any neighborhood.
Angel.. how much longer have you got to go in the 'incubation' stage?

I sure hope so Start.. you deserve a few bright moments every day!
Just got a new prescription of Valium, so let me know when you need it. I've got enough now.. he gave me 50 of those nice little 10 mg. tablets. He asked me how many I take a day, I told him that sometimes 1/2 in the morning, sometimes up to to a day, depending on how I feel. He said OK, and placed his signature on the Rx. You should have seen the receptionist's face... I couldn't control myself, I winked at her and left.
Lately I have urges to shock people just for the heck of it, and I don't care about their reactions, but most are so funny that I enjoy myself more.
I told a neighbor during lunch she invited me to that I plan on making a T-Shirt iron-on with "Almost Dead Woman Walking" on it - that did shock her and I laughed and told her I was just kidding. It's amazing how many crazy ideas crop up in my head lately, but I'm just letting them go though stages and accepting them as they come. If I applied those crazy ideas to reality, they'd put me in the looney bin and I don't want that.
I still have my sense of humor!
http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_9_18.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNfox000)I'm getting to like being able to rebuff! The catscan machine was on strike so I got to go back to town Monday, hope the snow will be gone by then.

It feels great to know that there are some people who understand where I'm coming from right now.
I even made my son-in-law laugh today... when paying the rent, all he received was 20 euro bills because that's all the machines issued. I told him that now he can go to a strip bar and have a lot of fun... He put a 20 euro bill in my cleavage and we both laughed.
He and Jaime are finally divorced and I helped him through the separation, and we get along better now than we did before.
They found a growth at the stem of his brain, so he's in the scared stiff stage and since I'm past that, I help him try to cope. I will go with him when he gets his catscan too. I hope to heck it's not serious because I've really grown to love the guy. It's a shame that something like this has to happen to a wonderful young guy.
His &astard of a father is the one who deserves all the ill will, but he'll probably outlive all of us.
