We are using well ater system and pump and tank set up.. however we have been experiencing the high water pressure lately.. I was told it is the pressure regulator/vavle problem. How do I adjus the pressure.. it is electirc and I think there are two nuts inside the box.. one is bigger than the other.. I think it should be set to 50 psi.. how do I adjust and know which level is 50 psi. high water pressure

Hi sir
Thanks for replying my messagne and I found out that I have square D water pressure regulartor/valve.. so you are saying I need to adjust the small spring nut to reduce pressure.. cause the pressure is at 80 or 90 psi...
Please advise.thanks a lot
Thanks

80 or 90 P)SI is way too high for house pressure. The average is 45PSI. Click on the image (Square "D" Cutaway) to see the nuts locations.

First turnoff the power at the breaker box, then pull the cover off the pressure switch and you will see two spring loaded bolts secured with nylon nuts.(see image) One tall, one short. To increase the cut in pressure, turn the nut on the tall bolt down, to decease the cut in pressure back the nut off.. To increase the cut out pressure,(that's the one that will give you more or less pressure) turn the nut on the short bolt down, to decrease the cut out pressure back the nut off. You will have to check your pressure gage as you do this. Good luck, Tom

e: about high water pressure
I appreciate that so much sir
The name of the well water tank is pro source and it is the air valve on top of it.. I check all the pro source water tanks.and the air valve is all the same on every models.. and it is leaking maybe because I tried to pump some air into the tank yesterday because it is at 0 psi.. and because the air valve is old.. I might have damage the air valve.. and about the pressure switch.. it is made by square d and one big nut and small.and the cut in will be at 30 psi at normal and it will start to pump at 50 psi... is it normal?thanks

The bladder tank pressure should be set at 2 PSI under the cut in pressure on the control box when the pump's shut down anr the pressure's bled off. When yo crack the air valve on the tank does water come out?

the cut in will be at 30 psi at normal and it will start to pump at 50 psi... is it normal?
Not the way you explain it. The cut in pressure will be 30 PSI and that will be when the pump starts to work. The cut out point will be 50 PSI and that's when the pump stops.

yes water came out( of the top of the bladder tank)
Then the membrane has ruptured and you will have to replace the bladder tank. Good luck, Tom

Besides the water leak.what else can be damaged if I don't replace the bladder tank?
Thanks

The tank you have now is useless and every time you draw a glass of water the pump will run. This will overwork the pump and burn out the windings in time. CHANGE THE BLADDER TANK BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE Regards, Tom
