Is there anything that I can do with my neighbor having so many dogs? They have done killed every cat that I have had my kids are afraid to go outside to play and when I confront him about it he just says they don't bother my cats and if they come back in my yard that I can shoot them come on he knows I don't know how to shoot a gun or have a heart to kill a animal what can I do?

If the neighbor cannot control their animals, you can call animal control on them, but also, make sure that your cats are in your yard and not theirs.

We have called animal control and they shot a tranquilizer at the main dog and it run off in the woods and animal control couldn't find it so they left and yes my cats stay in my yard as my dogs stay in my yard too

When they come into your yard call the police each and every time.
Some places have a limit on the number of animals you are allowed to have. You may want to check into this. Call your local council, courthouse or health department someoene should be able to help you.

I am half tempted to move this to the legal forum. This is a legal problem, not a dog problem. I don't answer questions there because I have no special knowledge of legal matters. I do hope those answering questions there do.

Since you have kids, dog of your own, and cats, have you considered fencing your own yard. None of my neighbors have 15 dogs, but I have a fenced yard. They are great for little kids and dogs. I didn't spend a fortune on it, using welded wire and steel posts.

Msilva, I live in the boonies too and believe me, there are zoning ordinances where you live. Most municipalities do not allow that many dogs in a residentially zoned area. They would need to get rezoned and granted a kennel license, which would have to be approved by the township after an open public hearing in which the neighbors are allowed to voice their concerns. Follow bushg's advice. If the police don't respond or do anything about the situation, check with your State's Health Department. Ask them for the phone number to your State Veterinarian's office. Between the Health Department and the State Vet, you can get something accomplished. Having 15 dogs running around loose is a criminal offense in most towns. You have a legal right to "the quiet enjoyment" of your property. Your neighbor must keep his dogs contained on his property and off yours. The State Vet or the Health Dept will make your neighbor's life pretty uncomfortable once they see the situation. They may bring charges against your neighbor if he doesn't rectify the situation within a reasonable period. If they don't, they will tell you what your legal options are.

Some cities have ordinances against having two-three dogs. You could try looking in to that.
Second do what everyone else said call animal control. Those dogs are dangerous, it might be like dogs to kill cats, but children should not be afraid to go outside.
