I have a fairly used roper dryer that was working fine as of yesterday... we went to use it today and it will not turn on or enter into any cycles. I can here the time motor running but when I push the start button "nothing happens".

Note, previously all I had to do was turn the timer switch to the minute side or section, i.e. 10, 15, 20, and so on and the dryer would start right up.

To summarize, if I turn the timer to the minute or numbered side, i.e. 10, 15, 20 (right) I can hear the time running, but if I turn the timer to the left side, i.e. hot, very hot, etc. I cannot hear the timer running nor does anything happen when I push the start button in any mode.

All ideas are welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Check the thermal fuse for continuity or bypass it. It is located at the rear of rhe blower housing and is about3/8" wide and about 2 1/2" long
