Hi,

I see I am not the only one, but I have a sewer smell in the basement. It is progressively getting worse and I think now the smell is seeping into my kitchen. It looks like the water level in the sewer holes has gone done. I have two opening (caps for each) in the corner of the basement. Only a single french drain running to the opening site for drainage. I recently installed a water saving toilet, which is the only major plumbing change made within the past 2 months. Unless you want to count having to snake the bathroom sink since water would take 20 minutes to drain down.

I tried throwing 4 pails of water down the opening to re fill and I think the water level is going down.

How do I fix this?

Should I just run the hose on it for a few minutes?

Please help!

You don't say how old you home is but if it has a basement it sounds like is an old home. You probably need for someone with some knowledge of plumbing to probably you pipes it appears that it has a leak somewhere.
