When sending a card for bereavement should you mention that you sent a memorial contribution?
My spouse died last year. People sent money (in-lieu of flowers) to a local zoo. I could never thank any one the zoo was not able to tell me where the money came from.
Thanks!:

~ You could try putting a Thank You in the Happy ads of your local newspaper. I realize my situation was quite different from yours, when my home burnt down there was a fund set up for my family, we did not know the contributors to the fund. This is what we did, it made us feel better about the situation. Good Luck!

I believe the funeral home lets the family know a few days after of the names of those "who left memorial contributions" and "how much"... and if contributions are sent directly to the chosen recipient, then I believe they send some form of T/Y card/letter that states, "so and so donated x-amount on behalf of your loved ones name"... or this may be a list of all those that donated.
According to "proper etiquette" when sending Thank You cards after a funeral your never to include the monetary amount when thanking someone for their contributions... just that "their generosity was greatly appreciated" or blah blah blah...
I didn't really like that rule because I wanted to thank them for the exact amount they contributed, as some people do wonder if their contribution was ever received and "your generosity" just seems a little form like to me, not personal. That's just my opinion though! Lol!
