I am a 28 year old white female with fairly light skin and have over the past few months developed a dark patch of small freckles above my lip and around my hairline above my right eyebrow. I have been staying out the sun, using hight spf but it is still there. I think it might be hormonal but I have never been pregnant as I believe it can also be referred to as the mask of pregnancy. Please advise what I can do to stop this!

My personal advice is: bleach it and pick the really dark and thick ones yourself with a tweezer..

From your description, it sounds like Melasma. Melasam is brown or brown-gray patch that appears on the face. It generally appears on the cheeks, upper lip forehead. Melasma is often associated with pregnancy, sun exposure, hormone therapy or sun exposure. Remember that melasma can take weeks or months to clear up. Products that contain hydroquinone can help fade the discoloration. But I recommend that you see a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment options. Be sure to wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher before you go outdoors.
