Hi,

The last time I had my period was August 30th-September 5th. I wasn't sexually active at all during the month of September. It is now October 15h and I have yet to get my period!! I've taken 4 pregnancy tests and all of them have come out negative. I don't know what's going on... I feel random cramps, fatigue... But I don't know if it's just "false pregnancy symptoms" or my period coming on... I'm so confused! A couple months ago (March) I had an abortion so I don't know if this is a factor. I have no idea what's going on and just want some answers
Any help would be very much appreciated!!

THANK YOU

Hi there my name is Halley and I no I'm maby young to answering this particular question but my gues to you would be to automatically go and see your local doctor or GP. But if you feel uncomfortable going alone take someone with you being your mother or aunty or one of your friends of even your recent boyfriend or in fact the one who had in sexual contact with because after all it takes two to tango so it isn't all your fault if you are pregnant. But I wouldn't worry about it I had reseached this before and your cramps and such like are fazes you will be detecting from you recent abortion. But if you are in fact pregnant you can except it or you can run through another abortion. All simple facts of the structure of sexual activity my dear that's all I have to say .

If you haven't been sexually active since your last period then chances are you are not pregnant. Many times pregnancy symptoms are a lot like period symptoms, PMS symptoms, or symptoms of something else.
Many factors could play a part in you having a late period. Such as, are you on any type of birth control? How old are you? Have you been stressed or sick?

I'm 20 years old, not on any birth control... I have been under a lot of stress (I just moved to a different university and it's been kind of rough)... I just don't understand WHY I haven't gotten my period yet... and it's stressing me out even more. I'm going to try to go to Planned Parenthood this week and figure this out... I just want to know the most accurate form of testing I can do. I've been reading about pregnancy blood tests, would that be better?

Also I would like to add that my period has been regular (or at least somewhat on time) since my abortion.

Stress could be the cause of a delayed period. But it is wise of you to see a doctor. You know your body better than anyone else. You know what is right or wrong with your body.
A blood test is more accurate than a hpt. You can get one done by your doctor. I don't think planned parenthood could do one. I know where I live it has to be done by a doctor (even health clinics won't do them).

Should I take another hpt test? Or what should I do? I don't have a gynecologist right now, can I go to planned parenthood and make an appointment with a doctor there?

Sweetie, unfortunately we can't tell you what is going on here. I know you want answers, and I would like to give you some. But without knowing your complete medical background and without doing a physical, I can only guess.

I will tell you, though, that stress can very well be a cause of a delayed period, as well as weight gain or loss. Our bodies do strange things to us even when we aren't aware of stressors.

Any HPT you take should be taken first thing in the morning. If this still comes up negative, you can try planned parenthood, but I don't know if your local chapter does blood tests. I have a feeling that they don't as they are a little more expensive.

Okay thank you to everyone who has responded... I think I will wait until Saturday or after the weekend, take another test... and if I still haven't gotten my period I will schedule an appointment.

You had an abortion, are having sex, and not on birth control?? I would think that a responsible young adult, knowing they don't want kids now, would at least try to prevent this! Abortion is NOT a BIRTH CONTROL!!
