Why do you think you need one?
If it's to print photos, then it's not the right technology.
If it's to print brochures, presentations, then yes.

The cost per page is lower with laser than inkjet. As an example, for a particular B&W laser printer, $80 will get you a toner cartridge that will print 3000 pages.

If you want to know all about lasers, take the next 14 or 15 years and see if you can get your hands on some corporate functional specifications.

It takes teams of engineers concentrated if different projects to bring a product to the street. If they are on different teams, these engineers rarely speak the same language wrt the project they are working on.

For example, some lasers will use jump gap tech, to place the toner spots on the page, others use contact where the toner is brought to the paper and placed on the charged paper.

Color rendering is another example of diverse implementations. Most corporations have settled on different color tables from which they draw the palettes. Also there are several color arrangements laying around, There's CMYK (Cyan, magenta, yellow, black) there's RGB (Red Green Blue).

It would be far easier for you to get some online brochures and go through them and then ask your questions.
