I dumped my boyfriend a year ago and since then we've still been talking and are still friends. Ive realized that I've made a mistake and want to go back to the way things used to be. He's on the football team now and has a lot of girls that like him. I ended up telling him that I still like him and he told me he wants to just be friends and that we've already tried and it didn't work out and that he doesn't think anything is there anymore. I care about this guy a lot... is there anything I can still do to try to get him to have the same feelings again?

It is true though, you guys tried and it didn't work. He is doing exactly what most people here have been told to do after a breakup.

Apoligies for my drunk message. You dumped him and it seems he moved on. You made the fault and you have to deal with it. If he has shown no interest and you have tried perhaps it time you moved on to. Avoiding him might help.

I agree with Jiser, however I believe if you still have strong feelings for him, there are many methods that could be used to get over him, just try dating someone else for a while, try not to think about him, avoid him, take up a hobby so you don't think about him, but if you're still finding that you can't get over him, then just talk to him, don't put pressure on him, I've been where he is and it doesn't help, just be a good friend, consol him when he needs to be, he will eventually warm back up to you, not nessisarily in that way, but tgere is still always a chance he will get back with you, like I said, don't pressure him and ask him questions like how's his love life and how much did he really love you when you were together, if he still feels the same way, no matter how slim, it will show over time, if not, just try to get with someone else to forget about him, that's all I can say

I agree 100% with talaniman. He said No! That should be the end of it. Scheming trying to get someone that does not want you will get you nowhere.
