My citibank account got turned over to a attorney collection agency, so I agreed to pay $300 then 5/07 the account was sold to another attorney collection agency, and I lost my good paying job. So I was sending $150 and now due to unforseen circumstances I am paying $80-95 per month. I received a phone call from the credit attorney's office demanding that I pay $150 per month or a lien would be place on my house! I thought that as long as I send something every month I would be considered current!

They are not going to do anything to you. It is great that you are trying to pay off your debt, and what they are doing is harassing you. Just keep paying what you can and make sure you keep records of your payments. If they do decide to put a lien on something they will have to take you to court first. If you can prove to a judge that you are paying off your debt as best you can they will put you on a payment plan in most cases until you have paid off your debt.:)

Hello irma:

Unsecured debt, which is what a credit card is, cannot all of a sudden be secured by your home. Even if they sue you and win a judgment, your home will be safe.
