Can you get a power of attorney for a person than can no longer write or comprehend what you are asking? The person is terminally ill, in hospice.

I believe so you may want to discuss this with their dr. but it shouldn't be a problem if the dr is in agreement . Good luck

No. If they are unable to comprehend then they will not be considered competent to give you power of attorney. You will have to apply to a court for it to be granted to you.

Lisa is of course correct as always, you will have to go to court and get guardianship over this person if they can not comprehend what anyone is saying. They don't have to be able to write
