I am not a dead beat person. I just need to find out the best way to repay all the creditors without losing everything that I work so hard for. I need to be able to still pay my household bills to live also. I work very hard and would love to figure out a way to make everyone happy. Can anyone help??

Are some of these people to whom you owe money credit card companies? If so, then you can call them and maybe work out a payment arrangement that will work for you. I did that, and had a friend who is a cpa on the other line to listen and talk in case there was something that I forgot to mention. I now have a payment schedule each month that I can afford.

Hello p:
Given the latitude credit card companies now have to SCREW people under our great and fearless leader, George Bush, you may NEVER be able to get out from under. It's the ONLY contract you'll ever enter where one side (THEIRS) can change the rules in the middle of the game.
However, bankruptcy, even though our great and fearless leader, George Bush made it HARDER for an ordinary working mom to declare (cause he's friends with the credit card companies), is STILL something that would allow you a fresh start.

Filing for bankruptcy would be a last resort in my opinion. I don't know how anyone can give this advice without knowing your financial situation. A lot of times all it takes is making a budget and sticking with it. Writing down where you spend your money can help a lot.

If it's credit cards your dealing with, think about this. Most of the JERKS sell off you debt once you default. They often carry insurance on you, just like PMI insurance for a house purchase. Those JERKS get there money. Then they sell off your debt to a junk collector for 7% or less of the total debt, This is after they tack on all types of ridiculous fees and overage charges. Ever wonder how a credit cards with a limit of 5K gets a 7,500 charge off. YES it should be criminal what they do!! Nonetheless the junk collector in today's work will likely sue you, why? Because the courts have no balls and justice is blind!! If all likely hood the junk collector had no legal footing, no proof and no standing. To sue in civil court you must prove two things. 1) you have been injured, 2) a complaining party. Who was injured? Certainly not the junk collector. Who is the complaining party? I doubt the creditor will every show up in court to complain. This would allow you to Cross examine and that will never happen. You see, it's all about smoke and mirror and they know that the majority of the population has no clue or understanding at all as how to defend against such a thing. The attorneys that one would hire only want to make a living and often want to settle. That's what attorneys do. Only a very rare percent of them ever fight the entire lengthy legal battle. All I can say is fight. In this country you have to FIGHT for your RIGHTS, regardless of what you did wrong or what mistakes you have made in the past. We all have made them. Don't give up and never quit fighting. You will win in the end and learn a great deal about our legal system when you do.
