Hi - like Carol Seguin, I too have a (brand-new DVR 530) satellite system (Star Choice like she has) and want to hook in a combo VHS/DVD recorder - can't work it out. I have a Toshiba TV (Model unknown) which is a combo TV/DVD/VHS player (all of which functions are working fine). Does anyone know how to hookup a dvd/vcr recorder combo to starchoice satellite?

Also, I have a second receiver on the Star Choice system, and want to re-hook that unit (reeciver and TV) to a dual-deck GO VHS recorder, and can't work that one out either. The TV involved is a pretty old JVC mono model and doesn't seem to have many inlet/outlet jacks.

Can anyone help with either of these two puzzles?

Try this for a start. Remember it records the input, from the output of the receiver, player etc. The TV is the last thing in line. Recorders record from the input, not necessarily what is displayed on TV.

Monster Cable Connection Guide - Home (http://monstercables.com/connection/)

On your first one, hook the output from sat into vcr/dvd, out of there to TV.
On second one, Hook satellite out(red, white, and yellow?) in to the recorder.
Does not need a lot of ins and outs, 1 each will do. Good luck
The above link will also tell you, if you use Component(red, blue, green) that you will also need a red an white for audio. Depends on connections, link will help.
Good Luck
