As I have just moved into mobile home I have one question to ask??
Having a new home with a new intertherm furance the thermostat has cool heat and vent
Why is the furance so loud when it is running?

Why is the furance (intertherm) so noisy when running?

Well,, in house trailers it seems to be that way. The furnace is right there in the living quarters, probably has nothing around it to deaden the sound,is it gas or electric?I`ve seen people try to cover the door with something to deaden the sound,, but sometimes you can`t if the door serves as your return air, they don`t spend a lot of time in the engineering part of moble home heating systems. But someday you`ll get used to the noise and won`t realize when its running,, its like living close to the railroad tracks, you just get to where you don`t hear it.

Not to be sarcastic but I have not seen or heard a mobile home furnace that wasn't loud. But the noise your talking about may be different than what I'm talking about. Dirt in the cups of the blower wheel will give you a vibration noise, high gas pressure will give you a roar sound, just hearing air noise or the motor running is normal.

Mobile home furnaces work at a higher static pressure that a stick built home. The duct work in a mobile home is very restricted and this is the cause for running a higher static pressure. The only way to get around some of this is to use a packaged unit that goes outside and ducts in. They are much quieter because the blower is outside along with the burner.

Did a few change overs years ago and the sound was like night and day difference.
