I have a Maytag MTB2156GE refrigerator that is around 4 years old.
Every time the refrigerator door closes the freezer door seal pops as if a puff of air has opened it. If closed slowly it reseals if not it pops open.
I have cleaned the seal and it looks in good shape and seals well. The freezer is not full and I have reorganized things to make sure nothing is in the way.
I have read on this site that the magnet might need to be replaced. If someone could elaborate as to where the magnet is and how to get a replacement that would be appreciated. I have tried to find the manual at Maytags site, but my model number comes up with no hits. Will examine things more closely tonight.
Is it normal to have a backwash of air into the freezer compartment. When I looked at the vent located on top of the refrigerator compartment I'm looking at vent holes and styrafome (sp) like from a cooler. Is is possible I'am missing some piece or some valve to prevent backwash is malfunctioning.
Thanks for any advice
