My 10 and a Half month old Shih tzu Puppy ( GIZMO) has been a pretty fussy eater from the start. I have tried him on everything, now he won't eat his puppy food, he won't eat chicken or some of the other foods (homemade doggie recipes I have made him, please can you help me as he just isn't eating anything now. He has a few chicken treat sticks but he has totally gone off his food, please can you help me:confused:

Hi I had the same sort of problem with my german shepherd puppy a while ago and I was told to try and give her scrambled eggs. It seemed to work as she ate that and then started to eat her food again after a few days. Also have you wormed your puppy?sounds like a silly question I know but some people do forget. I hope you sort the problem out but if nothing else works I would just take him to the vets.

NO, NO, NO, it is nearly always the wrong thing to do to tempt a non eater with rich food. Lynette, you are lucky you didn't end up with a problem like this, https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/3-month-pup-wont-eat-dog-food-135773.html

I cover this common problem in the sticky at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/information-articles-our-dogs-expert-labman-53153.html#post254171

ur dog prolly just has worms. it won't do any good to tempt it, but anti worm medication at local pet stores.

Sorry but I was just saying what I had been told when I went to a vet here. To either try scrambled eggs (like we eat when we have a poorly tummy) or they said if I hadn't wormed her to try that. I do think it would be best to see your vet and take their advice.I hope he gets better soon

Anybody that took time to read the sticky would see that in many cases I do suggest checking with the vet. Hopefully one with enough experience with young Shepherds not to suggest tempting them with rich food.
