I have a hampton bay ceiling fan (PortlandII) that come with a down rod for installation. Is it possible to install w/o the rod? I want it flush with the ceiling. Tx.

Measure the diameter of the down rod. If it is half inch conduit, it will be about 3/4''. Wonder around the electrical supplies and find the close or all thread nipples. Pick one out the same diameter as the down rod. Screw it into the fan, and the ceiling plate to it. Complete the installation.
