My fiance' never reported to his probation officer. He was sentenced in 2005 for a year probation. He was arrested this month. He had been working and going to school. Never been arrested for anything else since then. What is going to happen? Will he go to prison?

He well may. Since he didn't comply with the terms of his probation by reporting to his probation officer as ordered, he may have to serve his sentence in prison.

My brother is kind of in the same situation. Some consider probation as "serving time". Your just not locked up in a facility. I think depending on why he was put on probation in the first place will determine if he will serve his time in jail or just continue his probation.

He has two issues, one is that first he was arrested for his new crime, so he will have to deal with that issue. You did not say what new thing he did to get arrested, but with that, it is all up to the judge.

I've heard people say that. Some even would rather turn down probation and serve their time in jail...
That has got to be the dumbest thing I ever heard...
