Yes! Living in this world for no reason is horrible. We are here for a great reason. You just need to ask what it is

Yes, I believe life has meaning and we are here for a reason. So you do not "know" what your reason is - you were placed here on Earth by divine reason and sometimes you just have to take that and believe in your purpose in the world. If you need some example, look at the classic movie, "It's A Wonderful Life." The main character lost belief in his purpose and was ready to throw himself in the river. He could not see how his life had impacted those around him. The joy and hope and love he gave to others.
I think we are here to make at least one life better, to make the best we can out of what we have, and to do no harm to life and creation. Not to be miserly with our talents. To seek out the hurt and help bind the wounds as best we can. To protect the innocent and helpless. I could on and on. But I will stop here.

You're asking me what it is, this is one of the world's biggest questions and no one knows why for sure. Do you believe in God? Well then you must believe he brought us to this life for a reason. Some people figure it out when they are young, some people find out when they are on their death bed, and some people die without knowing. But there must be a reason, there is a new baby born each day, and I believe that this baby is born to believe in God. Born to help the poor, save the innocent, learn, and pass on whatever lessons learned in life to the next generation :)

People put meaning to things. People create meanings.
You can give meaning and purpose to your life.

Just curious.
The meaning of life is that it ends.
The reason we're here is to infinitely enjoy it's finiteness.

And before it ends... we are here to love and to be loved. That is it...

Hello Biggie:
The reason we're here is to propagate. Does it mean anything?? It does to me. I love propagating.

Sex is interesting, but it's not totally important. I mean it's not even as important (physically) as excretion. A man can go seventy years without a piece of tail, but he can die in a week without a bowel movement.

Hello magprob:
Not important huh? If all we did was crap and not screw - we wouldn't be here to do either.

Nobody has mentioned the Book Of Ecclesiastes. One thing Solomon doesn't mention is spending time with his kids, a 1,000 wives, but nothing about the kids. If he spent some more time with the boys, when they were young, maybe they wouldn't have made such a mess of things after he was gone.
I wonder if his brother Absalom would have turned out better if David took the boys out behind the palace and taught them how to use the sling?

Different people and religios people think of different reasons. Christians believe the reason is to spread the word, and live a holly life pleasing to God, so you can be a role model for other people. Hindus <- I have no idea what their reason is.
