Series 1200 Lexmark does not give me any info.
How about we start this way. What platform did you have before you installed Vista? Was the printer working prior to the Vista install.
If you disconnect the printer from the PC, when you turn on the printer, do you still get error?
If memory serves me correctly an 18XX error usually means fuser error. I'll dig in one of my old manuals and see if I can pull up the exact error. If it is a fuser error than you are probably going to have to replace the fuser. However, its been over 2 years since I actually looked for this type of error.
Give me a day or so.

Chrianhris,
I need to go to the office to find those manuals. That printer, the C1200 was an active printer before I retired from Lexmark. First, I want to be sure we are discussing the same printer.
To be honest I'm not sure whether the 18XX error refer to fuser or memory errors. Two years away from Tech Support. Also, are you sure you are getting a printer error and not a PC error? A printer error would be posted on the laser's op screen. A host or PC error would be on the PC screen.
An All In One printer would post to the PC screen
