There are numerous websites that try and explain how to fix this, and some have software that claim that their software is Windows Vista Certified. And McAfee Site Advisor (which I recommend) found 11 downloads that were all safe. But there were 11 people that complained, 3 thought the site was fine. So I'm not sure about the repairing of the file using downloads, but you may try to reinstall AOL, because from what I understand this file is an AOL file and may be linked to AOL 9.0.

There seems to be some good info here (I don't use AOL):
"SNMaster.idx Database is missing Please restore this file" - dslreports.com (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18503301-SNMasteridx-Database-is-missing-Please-restore-this-file)

I found a forum where people were discussing this particular issue. One person said the following and it seemed to fix it for them:

"I've just got rid of this problem finally....when you uninstall AOL, it keep some files in your computer....you have to uninstall.....then DELETE all remaining aol folders.......it will let you re-install"

This snmaster.idx database has to do with AOL connectivity. I just remedied it myself, after working with AOL techs who made matters worse.
Control Panel-ADD/REMOVE (Uninstall AOL via Uninstaller.) Choose everything. Be sure to save your PFC, etc. at lower left of screen. Restart computer.
Go to COMPUTER-Program files. Highlight RIGHT CLICK anything that is AOL. Choose Delete in the drop down.
Go to Common Files and do the same to any AOL files and Delete.
Restart.
Next Start your computer in Safe Mode With Network. (F8)
Once in Safe Mode, type in Aol.com in Internet Explorer. At bottom of that page Download. Download the AOL you want. After AOL is installed restart your computer. When Windows opens AOL will be there and ready to use (AND NO MISSING snmaster.idx)
You will just have to do all of the steps to get AOL working.
