Please help I live in a mobil home so I don't know if the walls are different than a regular home they are not shiny the people before painted them beige and white sponging any way I want to paint them green my problem is I picked a nice soft slightly olive green color and I tried it on the walls I primed them first than put 2 coats of color. The color looks more like mint green I absolutely don't like it, I am stuck with it I bought 2 gals. Do you have any idea why it would look so different on the walls than in the can it looks like the right color. Could they possibly add something to it to get it more olive green. I would really appreciate it to hear from you thank you kay5

If you wish to lighten the color yes you can add white paint be sure it's the same sheen (satin, flat, etc.) and mix it really well. If you wish to darken the color maybe the store you bought the paint from can help. Lighting effects the paint in a big way. This may explain your color difference. Also the color of your walls ,the type of primer used, how well it covered and brand of paint make a difference. What year is your mobile home.

If you paint one wall green it will look like the sample. Paint a second and third wall the same color they will all look darker because they are relecting the same color, it gets more intense. If you add white to your green be sure to add the same amount to both gallons and then books the two to blend out and slight variations.
