I was recently issued a for a total of amount of $1718.00 from a credit card company, of which I did not know that it was actually a judgment, but tactic to make me pay this amount. The credit card limit was for $300 originally, but the problem is that they froze my mother's bank account, because I am an authorized user to her cd account.

What can I do to first reduce this amount, because the bulk is fees, etc and what other ways can I have them unfreeze my mother's account.

You need to learn to read and understand what you get concerning unpaid debts.

You will need to prove that the funds in that account were all your mothers and none was yours. You can then file a motion to quash the attachment on those grounds. If you can get that through, you can then offer to settle with the creditor. Since they probably purchased the debt for pennies on the dollar, they will probably accept a settlement offer of 30-50% but only if you can pay in a lump sum.
